Training Programs
We offer colt starting and performance training for reined cow horse events, ranch versatility, ranch horse classes, and trail. We have cattle on the ranch for training. Our main objective is to train a horse that is confident and who loves his job. We accomplish this with using horsemanship and herd language to train horses. Trainer Lyn Meredith uses a reining foundation and dressage techniques to help a horse achieve fitness, balance, and softness in his performance maneuvers in any discipline.
Performance Training-- 6 month minimum commitment
FOR: Horses who will be showing or used for a performance job.

WHAT TO EXPECT: Your horse will have a reining foundation appropriate to his breed and athleticism. He will work mostly off leg and be light in the bridle with a low, soft headset. He will be hauled to shows or work environments as he is ready. He will have a work ethic. My goal is to create a horse who loves his job and loves to be a partner.

COST: Horses in long term performance training will get first consideration for training slots. Price will vary based on the program with incentives for reined cow horses. Please call to discuss.
Tune up or advancing training-- 3 month minimum commitment
FOR: Horses who are already started.

Colt Starting-- 3 month minimum commitment
FOR: Two year olds only. Arabians can be three years old.

WHAT TO EXPECT: Your horse will learn basic citizenship and be started under saddle. By the end of 90 days, he will be loping circles, departing on correct leads. He will be soft in the bridle and be started on basic reining and cow turns. I focus mainly on building athleticism and a soft feel. This first year, two years old are learning the pieces and the foundation for their careers. In my program, they will be well prepared and fit before attempting hard turns on the fence and hard stops.

COST: $1200/mo.
Citizenship -- 2 month commitment
FOR: Weanlings and yearlings.

WHAT TO EXPECT: Your horse will learn citizenship skills: picking up feet, standing for farrier, leading manners, trailer loading, standing tied, some lunge line and round pen skills appropriate to their age and fitness. I will also give them little jobs to do with obstacles and ponying.​
